Knitting Machine Maintenance
Clean the main bed, with your vacuum cleaner. Use one
of the accessories containing small hoses, that are designed for computers. Do NOT
use canned air or compressed air to blow stuff into the machine. You may end up
blowing dust into the computer or patterning area!
After vacuuming, wipe the machine down with a soft
cloth. Pull all needles to hold before wiping.
Inspect and change defective needles and sponge bar if
needed. At this point, if needed, remove all needles and clean them in a varsol
solution.
Inspect and straighten bent gate pegs.
Oil according to your manual.
Remove the carriage and using a soft 1" paint
brush, clean the underside. With a bit of oil on the same brush, lightly oil the
underside.
Remove and clean under all brushes and wheels on the
front piece. Do one side at a time to avoid confusion.
Clean the fluff out of the tension mast.
Do the same for the ribber.
Check the adjustment of the ribber.
