"Of Course", says the unsuspecting shop keep falling into the setup perfectly.
"Here's an ad for Flannels at 5 cents / yard. And here's silk on for 35 cents. Stolen Silks wouldn't be cheaper than these!"
As they were renovating their turn of the century home, they came across a collection of well preserved newspapers dating back as far as 1896. What a great find! I snapped a couple of quick phone pics so I could share them here.
We were doing an EPIC install when the question came up.
Recognize the sewing table? It matched the colour on the walls so perfectly that we can be sure it went to a nice home (they literally have sewing ads in the walls). Have Fun with your new EPIC! And if you do want a price match, you'll have to find an ad no older than 30 DAYS.

Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself. In preparing for the Pine Ridge Oh Canada Wallhanging, I'd made a point of choosing a fabric with a tight design so the pattern would be clearly visible on the smaller pieces. Simple right? But last night, after quickly cutting the first piece, I took one look at it and...
- wait for it -
Ta Da! No Dots!
Laughed out loud, traced it again, got a little fussy this time, and... way better.
I stumbled onto a website the other day discussing the swarm mathematics of fireflies. Most of it isn't really relevant here, except for the closing quote that I thought described Pine Ridge rather nicely.
"You float along, softly, in silence,
occasionally punctuating the darkness
with a small dot of bright light. By
yourself, there's not much to see.
But whenever you shine, you inspire
those close to you to shine too, a little bit
sooner than they otherwise would have.
And those close to you, in turn, inspire
those close to them.
And so on, and so on.
First, a few small groups start flashing
together. Then, a wave of light sweeps
across the swarm. Finally, you're all
dazzling together, a brilliant beacon, all
in harmony, in tandem – in synchrony.
What small-scale interaction will you
make today, little firefly?"
Well the third time really is a charm, because our 3rd Anniversary Sale over the weekend was out best one yet! So much fabric, so many smiling faces, so many people we want to thank. We had a FANTASTIC weekend.

It didn't take long for Tony to figure out that we needed to have a Ruby Tuesday. Laura was driving a Ruby deLuxe, Ilse was driving a Ruby deLuxe, Christina on a Ruby deLuxe, Marni just picked up the Ruby Royale, Ruth on a Ruby Royale - it was pretty obvious that the Ruby was the staff and volunteer favourite.
It was going to be be great, we would have had it on a Tuesday, written the invites on Rails, we would've served Reuben's, you get the idea....
On November 22 , Fourteen Ruby DeLuxe's showed up at our door.
I didn't get a sandwich, but I'm calling it anyways - the official Pine Ridge Ruby Tuesday.
Brenda's upgrading, Bonita's upgrading, Lisa's upgrading, Ilse's picking up another one. This is the upgrade event of the season. So what does that mean for you? That means we've got already loved machines on sale just in time for BLACK FRIDAY.
We've got a used Topaz, Sapphire, Jade, and a whole bunch of fully refurbished Ruby DeLuxe's ready for you to take home today.
Tony finally got his Ruby Tuesday.
Not ready to commit to embroidery? No problem, take home a Ruby D without the embroidery unit for almost HALF OFF! add the embroidery unit later. Even without embroidery, these are top of the line sewing machines. Did I mention the Ruby sews sideways? Literally sews sideways!

This might be a little off topic, but it's such a powerful message that I wanted to share it with our colleagues. Laura and I often share a spirited debate on the topic of nature vs nurture. This is a fascinating talk with Bruce Lipton that is both educational and inspirational (22min).
Aunt Joyce, you'll love this guy - he's also into Tapping!
